CHINNOR PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES of the ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING held on 10th July 2017

PRESENT: Cllr Ashdown, Haywood, Higgs, Ridgley, Watson, Williams

Staff: Liz Folley (Clerk) and Jo Wills (Asst. Clerk)

Councillors Declaration of Pecuniary Interest & Dispensations: None

Public Question time: No public were present.

 

Chinnor Open Spaces:

5.1 Conigre play area – fencing and pathway has been completed. Some damage has occurred to a wooden post which is being repaired by the contractors.

5.2 Old Kiln Lakes play area –art installation date is scheduled for end July.

5.3 HRR Skate Park – damage has been fully repaired.

5.4 RoSPA Reports 2017 – inspections due during July

5.5 Cllr Watson reported on meeting with Duo Chef regarding garden wall repairs and tidy up – ongoing topic until Cllr Watson has been able to meet the manager. The Clerk to write a letter also.

5.6 Playing Fields:

Cherry tree, by fitness equipment, required work being investigated.

All new fencing being erected by CFC, to protect houses and play area, to be completed before football season begins.

Litter and storage on the playing fields is ongoing – needs to be cleared.

 

Henton Green

6.1 The edges of the green are eroding and options to stop cars being parked are being sourced – suggestions are boulders, wooden bollards or signs. Quotes to be obtained.

 

Whites Field Community Hall and Car Park area

7.1 The litter in the car park is being monitored – gate to be kept locked over the holidays.

7.2 New signage – Cllr Higgs to progress with a meeting with J&J.

7.3 New padlock due this week with a new code for gate, so it can now be locked each night.

 

Events

8.1 August Marquee events – Update on progress of events:

Hire agreements have been sent and being returned

Risk Assessments are being completed by each user

Security guard has been sourced - £700

Temporary Event Notice being completed by Cllr Minter.

 

Clerks Report:

11.1 Clerks and Councils Direct magazine was passed to Cllr Williams

11.2 Items for future agendas:

Emergency Plan needs a full update

To discuss a volunteers award night for our community
